UsMoms HEADQUARTERS:

Since 2004, UsMoms has been working on getting our own building. Our goal is to house all
of our programs and other compatible organizations under the same roof. Additional space
would be made available for social enterprises with the intent that the net profits from the
social enterprises would be sufficient to enable UsMoms to become fully self-reliant as an
organization.

The building has been planned as a totally "green" building that will be specifically designed
to be contributing energy to the regional power grid, rather than being a consumer, as the
basis of the financial structure for developing a thriving urban community with in a city.  The
plans include rooftop gardens and greenhouses sufficient enough to feed a housing project
of 50 units. The water system will ultimately be self-contained and support an aquatic food
system as well. The tenants will be encouraged to live and work on-site. Daycare and
computer based education will be on-site. The latest technology will be used to enhance and
enable the self-reliant lifestyle. The economic plan is to enable each tenant to become fully
self-reliant by participating as a co-worker in the power plant, or the upkeep of the building,
or in the building's food systems, or the retail outlets, and/or through on-line businesses.

The plans have progressed significantly and more information will be made public in the fall
of 2007.

A HEARTFELT MESSAGE FROM THE PARENTS THAT BELONG TO UsMoms.

These parents want their children to have a chance to get out of the grips of poverty. The
parents want us to tell the world that when the free food program had to close down they
thought they could survive this loss. Now, that the program has been closed for five months,
the parents are frustrated, scared and enraged to see their children losing the gains they had
made after joining UsMoms' food programs. The parents are asking you to give them a
chance to prove how hard they would work to learn the skills and habits needed to become
permanently self-reliant. The parents are asking you to help them raise enough money to
help them get the building to house the programs that enable them and their children to
become permanently self-reliant.

UPDATE ON THE CURRENT CLOSURE OF THE FREE FOOD PROGRAM:

UsMoms' executive and board has spent the past few months rethinking our business plan.
We decided to use this crisis as an opportunity to do a much needed revamping of our
organization. UsMoms started as a grassroots organization of single parents helping single
parents. We  had no idea how fast that we would need to grow to meet the demands for
nutritious food and self-reliance training. Consequently we always faced the challenges of
not having the infrastructure needed to support this rapid growth. Everyday that we
succeeded in getting enough food, we ended up with struggling with trying to safely store
the food between distribution days. Every time we succeeded with a self-reliance course,
then we were faced with 100's of parents applying for a mere dozen available spaces. The
internal problems grew as well. We just didn't have the space and staffing to meet the huge
influx of administrative issues.
Our success literally became our crisis.

The crisis resulted in having to close our food programs because we just didn't have the
needed space to meet the needs of 1000's of families. We also lacked the consistent financial
resources to operate an efficient administrative office. Without the money for an effective
administration office we could not manage our fund raising programs as well as we needed
to either.

But- our families desperately want UsMoms to re-open the free food program and to expand
the self-reliance training programs to be available to all of the parents.

Now our crisis is becoming our motivation for rebuilding this organization to become the
model of self-reliance that we know we can be. We know we need to get into a building of
our own to be able to provide the quality of services that indeed achieve the mandated goal
to enable our clients to become fully self-reliant. Our goal remains the same. We are doing
the necessary fund raising to get the financial backing put together to build a "green"
eco-community based in assisting families to achieve permanent self-reliance. We will be
committed to providing these award winning self-reliance training programs to the
community, as well. Watch for our announcements.
